The Evesham Balloon Festival
The Balloon Festival is traditionally held in early June in the beautiful riverside town of Evesham, with Hot Air Balloons launching from Corporation Meadow next to the River Avon and dependent on the wind direction, they fly downwind into the beautiful surrounding Worcestershire countryside. In 2009 the event was postponed and successfully held on the weekend of the 22nd August 2009.
In 2009, Hot Air Balloons launched from the centre of Evesham both early in the morning and the evening of Saturday, with those who were up early enough in the morning able to see 16 balloons ascend and fly over the town and off downwind towards Bidford on Avon. Those who came in the evening were again treated to a mass ascent of balloons, 18 in total, followed that night by a Hot Air Balloon Nightglow & Firework display all choreographed to music. The Nightglow & Firework Display spectacular is a must see visual event for the Balloon Meet weekend, with balloons glowing and burners firing in the night sky in time to music.

Previously in conjunction with this event, there has been a Classic Car rally with cars from the 30's to 70's, a Funfair, a Crafts Marquee, a Pig Roast, the Fleece Inn's Vale Cider and Ale Bar, plus many more attractions, which weather permitting has also included Balloon Tethering during the day.
To date this has been a free entry spectacular held and supported by Wychavon County Council, so we thank them for their continued support this event in the town of Evesham.
Pencil a date in your diary for June 11th to 13th 2010 to see this event.
